The Online Joint Injection Course is an on-demand online alternative to our 1 Day Joint Injection Course. This course is delivered by highly experienced GPs and Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners, ensuring that a community focus and context is maintained throughout.

This course is aimed at practitioners working with musculoskeletal patients who would like to improve their assessment, diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal conditions, including the role of, theory behind and practical use of corticosteroid joint and tissue injections.

The course is reviewed and updated by consultant orthopaedic surgeons, university professors & lecturers, ensuring we always teach you the most recent, relevant, and evidence based practices.

This is a highly practical course, and consists of a series of short and punchy lectures, blended with close up patient assessment and injection videos, covering a wide range of MSK conditions.

Completion of this Joint Injection Course will:

– Teach you how to safely offer the right joint injections to the right patients

– Enable you to accurately diagnose and differentiate between a range of MSK complaints, where corticosteroid injections might be indicated

– Train you to use palpation and bony landmarks to identify the correct needle placement site and direction, in order to reach a number of key anatomical areas

– Equip you with a range of ongoing management and exercise plans, giving your patients the best chance of long term symptom relief

– Give you the confidence to begin offering Joint injections immediately within your practice

For Primary Care NHS Practitioners, our Certificate of Completion can be submitted to your local/regional commissioners,  so that you can remain accredited to perform Joint Injections under the Minor Surgery Directly Enhanced Service (DES) Contract.

It may be possible that your local commissioners mandate ‘in-person’ training/updates for Minor Surgery. To date thousands of practitioners have completed this online joint injection course and we have never encountered this, however, if there is any uncertainly then we’d advise you to check with your commissioner prior to booking.

This training usually needs to be renewed every 2-3 years.

As part of this online course you will receive 2 years access to the following online resources:

The Online Joint Injection Course is an on-demand online alternative to our  1 Day Joint Injection Course.

This Online Joint Injection Course is aimed at practitioners working with musculoskeletal patients who would like to improve their assessment, diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal conditions, including the role of, theory behind and practical use of corticosteroid joint and tissue injections.

The Joint Injection Course is suitable for all skills levels, although if you haven’t performed any of these skills before then you may prefer to attend our in-person Joint Injection Course instead.

If you are a novice or beginner, then we’ll teach you to safely offer Joint Injections. If you have previous experience, then you’ll expand your knowledge and receive an excellent CPD update from our expert tutors.

The Joint Injection Course is designed for GPs, Hospital Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, Paramedics and other primary care professionals, but is also suitable for any healthcare professional looking to expand the range of treatments they offer.

All Allied Health Professionals and non-independent practitioners should confirm the education requirements with their Insurers & Professional Body prior to the practice of injection therapy. Some professions, such as Physiotherapists, require a post graduate diploma in injection therapy, which this course will not provide.

For Primary Care NHS Practitioners, our Certificate of Completion can be submitted to your local/regional commissioners,  so that you can remain accredited to perform Joint Injections under the Minor Surgery Directly Enhanced Service (DES) Contract.

Yes! The joint injection course is open to delegates of all nationalities. We regularly have international delegates completing this course with us.

The key difference is that we use a range of advanced injection training models on our in-person course. If you feel, or have been advised, that you need hands-on/in-person injection training, then you should book our 1-Day Joint Injection Course instead.

Yes! Completion of this 1 Day Joint Injection Course will gain you 6 CPD Hours / Credits, which will be displayed on your Certificate of Completion.

The Online Joint Injection Course will cover all the practical elements, techniques and guidance required to perform Joint Injections. However, like most CPD Courses (including our in-person courses), it is not a postgraduate qualification or diploma level course, and does not on its own qualify healthcare professionals to practice joint injections independently afterwards.

The training requirements to practice joint injections independently vary both between and within professions; some require higher education (i.e. a diploma), some require CPD training such this course, followed by employer competency based assessment/clinical supervision, and some (generally independent practitioners & Doctors) require our training, supported by local mentorship, reflective practice, audit and appraisal.

If you are not a prescriber, you will also need arrangements for the steroid (+/- local anaesthetic) to be prescribed prior to treatment. This would  need to be under a Patient Group Directive or Patient Specific Direction.

We have Doctors, Nurses, Paramedics, and other NMC/HCPC professions attending, either to gain an excellent foundation in Joint Injections, or as a CPD refresher/up-skill for existing practitioners.

Yes! We are always delighted to have Trainees, Medical Students, FYs & STs completing our Online Joint Injection Course. You’ll find it an excellent introduction to these skills.

The fastest way to secure your joint injection course place is to use a credit/debit card to purchase your course via our website. You could either pay yourself and claim back from your employer, or they could make the purchase on your behalf using a company credit card.

If your employer wishes to make payment via bank transfer, and requires an invoice from us, then please add the desired course to your cart, and select the ‘Pay By Invoice option at the checkout page.

Instead of charging you, we will generate and send you an invoice for your training place, which you must then sent to your employer for payment.

At checkout please ensure you submit the correct Billing Details for your employer. Please also ensure you submit any Purchase Order Number, if provided to you by your employer. Purchase Order Numbers are often required by large NHS Organisations.
